OUR FOUNDER

Armando Gort, founder of HorsePower for Kids, was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated to the United States in 1970. Armando's dream was to someday own a horse farm where children could immerse themselves in the joys of animals within a genuine farm environment. In 1994, his dream materialized, and since then, he has warmly welcomed children from all over the World.

Armando's equestrian journey commenced at a very early age, leading him to master various disciplines such as Dressage, Western, Hunter, and Jumpers. He truly believes that "Dreams do come true. With diligence and perseverance, any goal is attainable."

He has always been drawn to animals since childhood. As a small child, he loved sleeping with his pet goat. While others played at the playground, he was tending to animals. His passion for horses ignited at the age of five when he was gifted his first pony, marking the beginning of a lifelong love affair. Reflecting on his journey, he realized that the moments spent with animals and family held the dearest place in his heart.

Regrettably, many children in the Tampa Bay area miss out on the experience of interacting with animals due to financial constraints: however; at HorsePower for Kids, we aim to change this reality for as many children as possible.

We appreciate your support!
